If you operate a creative website or blog, you probably already use display advertising such as Google Adsense or BuySellAds, these adverts pay either per click (CPC) or per 1000 views (CPM). Affiliate marketing is another way to monetize your website and even though the payouts are usually larger you only get remunerated once an action is taken (such as a sale is made).
The biggest challenge with affiliate marketing in the creative niche is to find the correct products to promote; we will cover several of those products in this category.
Depending on the type of website you operate here are some ideas of products to promote.
Canvas printing (great for photography website)
Design resources (fonts, icons etc.)
Software (graphic design software such as CorelDRAW).
Website themes and hosting (especially portfolio websites)
Each company will sometimes have various products you can promote (also called offers), they will either offer a fixed fee per transaction or a percentage of sale. They may also use a third party service (or platform) such as Commission Junction for tracking purposes, although some companies manage their own affiliate programs.
